Objectives

This program exposes students to fundamental knowledge and skills utilized in entry-level information systems and cybersecurity positions. This program introduces students to a variety of topics, such as assessing the security needs of computer and network systems, various computer and network safeguarding solutions, and managing the implementation and maintenance of security devices, systems, procedures and countermeasures.

Career Opportunities

This program offers graduates an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills that can help them pursue careers in a variety of entry-level positions involving information security. The positions may involve the design, configuration, installation and/or maintenance of information technology security systems.

Graduates who have difficulty distinguishing colors may not be able to perform the essential functions of various positions involving information systems and cybersecurity.

School Equipment

Students will have the opportunity to use the following school equipment as required throughout the program: computer systems, network hubs, patch panels, printers and other common computer peripherals.

Class Size

Classes generally range in size from 20 to 40 students. Depending on the course subject matter, certain classes may contain a greater or lesser number of students.
